Thembisile Ntaka is a South African musician. Thembisile was born and raised in Hammersdale, KwaZulu-Natal, on January 25 1982.
She realised she had a singing talent at the tender age of seven and entered the Shell Road to Fame talent competition at 13. In 2003, while in grade 11, she took part in the Coca-Cola Popstars talent competition. She was chosen as one of the top five winners, who in turn formed the group Adilah. Adilah was made up of Karabo Motlhabi, Letang Tlome, Thembisile, Refiloe Motha and Itumeleng Kgosana.
The group recorded a self-titled album that won a Sama Award in 2003 and sold more than 25000 copies. She went solo later and released a Afro-pop self-titled album in 2007. She worked with Hip-Hop Pantsula (Jabba) on the track Sikhathi Senjabulo. Interestingly, Adilah released a second album (Tekano) the same year.
Featured in the Coca-Cola collaboration project in which she recorded a gospel song with Rebecca Malope and Ringo Madlingozi. She also took part in the show, Strictly Come Dancing (Season 3), a South African reality dance competition television series. She was paired with Thabo Moloto.

Thembisile Ntaka was born and raised in Hammersdale, KwaZulu Natal on the 25th January 1982. Her mother passed away when she was twelve and her Dad in 2005. She has three sisters- two older and one younger. Despite being the middle child, she definitely hasn’t had the opportunity to revel in middle child syndrome. “Times were really hard growing up, but with support from my family, we managed to get by.”
Thembisile Ntaka is a South African reality contestant who was one of the winners of the reality show Popstars in 2003.
In 2007 was a celebrity dancer in the third season of the reality dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. Her and her partner Thabo Moloto were the second couple to be eliminated from the competition. Thembisile’s final episode on the show was Episode 3.
After taking a two-year break, Afro-pop star Thembisile Ntaka is back in the music scene.
Ntaka announced her return with the album she will be promoting at the Oude Meester Ekurhuleni Comes Alive at Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg on November 7.
Ntaka will share the stage with Paledi Nathi Malatji and Ntando Bangani. Malatji is also the lead singer of jazz group Labantu. The singer will be performing here for the second time in less than four months.
