Gogó Tsampá (Gr: Γωγώ Τσαμπά; born Georgía Mpodosáki; Orchomenus, Greece, November 9th 1982) is a Greek singer of traditional Greek Dimotiko music, as well as Greek pop folk. Dubbed a woman of low notes, her voice has been described to have a deep, Byzantine timbre.
Tsampa grew up in a musical family with her father being a singer and a church chanter, eventually following along at his appearances at village festivals (Gr: πανηγύρια; panigyria). She has been active since the late 1990s, withdrawing from high school to follow her musical passion, however she rose to fame across the entire country in the early 2010s following multiple viral songs, succeeding to create an interest among the Greek youth towards panigyria. She has since become one of the top names of her genre, touring the entire country, as well as abroad.
According to Tsampa, her live repertoire consists of over 3000 songs and she is capable of singing for over 12 hours straight without repeating a song. Despite her base being traditional music, she has collaborated with big names representing various other genres, such as the honoured songwriter Stamatis Kraounakis, as well as covered multiple hits of Greek popular music and urban folk.
