    Research Description

    Dr. Taniuchi received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia. She works with Eric Houpt, MD, and William Petri, Jr., MD, in developing molecular diagnostic assays to detect enteric pathogens that cause diarrhea and malnutrition. Her focus is to develop assays on platforms that can be used in low resource settings such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Thailand to study etiology of diarrhea and vaccine efficacy.
