  • Brian McBride is a retired American soccer forward who played for the Columbus Crew, Fulham FC, and the Chicago Fire. He is the fifth all-time leading scorer in United States Men’s National Team history.

    Brian played collegiate soccer at St. Louis University, where he set a career record for goals (72), assists (40), and total points (184). As a result of these accomplishments, Brian earned the title of Most Valuable Player of the Great Midwest Conference and was named to the All-Conference first team for three straight seasons, along with being named a two time All-American.

    After playing with the Milwaukee Rampage and VfL Wolfsburg, McBride returned to the States for the inaugural season of Major League Soccer in 1996, where he played eight seasons with Columbus Crew. Brian spent a significant amount of his professional career in Europe, where he served as team captain for Fulham FC and earned the Player of the Season award on two occasions. In 2008, Brian made his debut for the Chicago Fire.

    As a member of the United States National Team, Brian earned 96 caps and scored 30 goals in his international career. Making his National Team debut in 2013, Brian went on to represent the United States in three FIFA World Cup competitions, during which he became the first American t
